Most nonprofits spend a meaningful portion of what they raise on the people and infrastructure required to raise it. At Penrod, our staff is entirely volunteer. That means that every dollar you donate goes directly back into the community.
Penrod’s grants reach arts organizations and artists in every corner of central Indiana. From the Near East Side to Broad Ripple, from Fountain Square to the Northwest Side, Penrod is committed to investing in the arts across our city.
From the physical landmarks that define our neighborhoods to the foundational support of central Indiana’s civic institutions, we act as a year-round catalyst for growth.

By funding and installing the Gavin Divergence, Penrod provided a lasting visual identity for one of Indy’s most creative corridors. This project represents our mission in motion: to revitalize community spaces through artistic expression.
The Legacy Fund
While our annual grants provide immediate support, the Legacy Fund ensures that Penrod’s impact is permanent. This is our endowment: a growing pool of investment that allows us to fund large-scale, transformative projects that annual event proceeds alone can’t reach.
By surpassing the $1 million mark, the Legacy Fund has changed what is possible for our community. Every gift stays in the fund, grows, and keeps working for Central Indiana long after it is given.
